Why "Broken Crayon?"
I chose this name because it represents my core philosophy:
even when children feel broken or damaged, they still have immense value and potential.
A broken crayon still colors just as vibrantly as a new one.
Values & Modalities
Core Values
I value inclusivity and respect, ensuring that my practice is a safe space for all, regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation.
I create a safe, nurturing environment where children can express themselves freely and develop the emotional tools they need to thrive, combining evidence-based techniques with creative expression to meet each child where they are.
Philosophy
At Broken Crayon Counseling, I believe that every child has unique strengths and challenges.
Just like a broken crayon can still color, children facing difficulties still have incredible potential.
Eclectic Approach
Though I am grounded in the person-centered perspective, I take an integrative approach in that I will work with you to figure out what type of counseling approach is most conducive to the changes you are wanting to see.
I specialize in play therapy, but I may incorporate CBT, DBT, expressive arts, and child-parent relationship training in our work together.
